The Louisiana Drillers of the NA3HL are proud to announce the signing of Defenseman, Matthew Campos and returning Goaltender, William Carney for the 2023-24 season!
Matthew, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada, is excited to enter his first year of junior hockey. Last season he played in Las Vegas for Faith Lutheran High where he tallied 11 points in 20 games. “It’s funny how things work out in the hockey world. When I was younger and still living in Las Vegas I had Matthew out on the ice for lessons with other players. It’s been some time since I have seen him and I’m happy to have him again. I’m looking forward to helping Matthew continue to develop in this game and see where he can go.” Said head coach Francis.
William Carney is excited to be back with the Drillers this season and represent his hometown of Lafayette for his final season of junior hockey. Last season Will posted great numbers as a Driller with a 2.41 GAA and a .922 SV% along with 8 wins in his first junior season. Head Coach Chris Francis had this to say about Will. “Will is entering his final season of junior hockey and I know he wants to be successful. Will has a great work ethic and will help lead this team on and off the ice.”
The Drillers open the season on the road with two back-to-back weekends against the Mid-City Stars and Texas RoadRunners. The team returns to Lafayette for their home opener on October 6th against the team that ended their last season, the Texas Brahmas!
General admission is $8 for adults, $5 for youth and kids under 5 years old are free. We hope to see everyone in attendance this season as we PACK THE PLANET for another successful Louisiana Drillers hockey season! Geaux Drillers.
