Vukasin's hat trick helped the Drillers crush the Spirit 6-1

Brandon Vukasin led the way with a hat trick as the Louisiana Drillers crushed the College Station Spirit 6-1 in a home game at Planet Ice Rink in Louisiana. In addition, the Louisiana Drillers' offense had a big night, peppering the Spirit with 37 shots throughout the game. The Louisiana Drillers took the lead early in the second on a goal from Brandon Vukasin.

Zach Smith chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Drew Wotta delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first, Vukasin opened the scoring for the Drillers with a goal at 10:42 with a helper from Jorajuria.

In the second, Vukasin deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:12 with helpers from his linemates, Wotta and Regino. Hale scored a goal at 12:04 with assists from teammates Smith and Zittel. Smith netted a goal at 18:21.

During the third period, Vukasin put in a goal at 1:13 with an assist from Wotta. Watzka deposited a goal at 7:26 with helpers from Smith and Morgan. Palamara finally put the Spirit on the board with a goal at 13:43 with assists from Jeffries and Dacey.

The Drillers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Varricchio’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced. Varricchio’s counterpart, O’toole, also had a big night, managing to stop 31 of 37, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Louisiana Drillers’ record to (4-7-0-0).
