Ian Clifford posted a shutout, stopping all 35 of the College Station Spirit shots throughout the game. The Louisiana Drillers took the lead early in the first on a goal from Mitch Dolese and never looked back.
Hayden Watzka had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Mitch Dolese delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the first, Dolese opened the scoring for Louisiana with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 0:43 with helpers from teammates Watzka and Wotta.
In the third, Zittel deposited a goal at 3:07. Watzka netted a goal at 9:38 with assists from Dolese and Wotta.
The Drillers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Clifford’s shutout, as he stopped all 35 of the shots he faced. Clifford’s counterpart, Pehrson, also had a big night, managing to stop 56 of 59, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Louisiana Drillers’ record to (17-27-1-1).
