The Drillers defeat the Jr. Stars 6-5

Christian Kazoleas came up big, stopping 58 of 63 shots throughout the game. The Louisiana Drillers took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Brandon Vukasin.

Brandon Vukasin delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Mitch Dolese contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Greco opened the scoring for Mid Cities with a goal at 4:21 with a helper from his teammate Schulz. Hutton quickly followed with a goal at 5:13 with a helper from his linemate Brain. Dolese finally put Louisiana on the board with a goal at 7:49 with an assist from his defensive partner, Alspaugh. Morgan quickly followed with a goal at 8:13 with helpers from Smith and Morgan. Hale netted a goal at 17:08 with an assist from his teammate Vukasin.

During the second, Hutton answered for Mid Cities with a goal at 1:19 with a helper from Smith. Alspaugh answered for Louisiana with a goal at 7:13. Vukasin scored a goal at 13:38 with assists from Alspaugh and Jorajuria.

In the third period, Hutton answered for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 10:25 with a helper from defenseman Campbell. Vukasin answered for the Drillers with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:16 with an assist from defenseman Dolese. High answered for Mid Cities with a goal at 17:39 with helpers from his linemates, Sheridan and Hutton.

Louisiana’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Kazoleas’ big night as he stopped 58 of the 63 shots he faced. On the other hand, Kazoleas’ counterpart, Khatri, and the Jr. Stars’ defense did not have such a great night allowing 4 goals in 14 shots.

This win brings the Louisiana Drillers’ record to (1-3-0-0).
