Dolese's hat trick helped the Drillers crush the Spirit 5-1

Mitch Dolese led the way with a hat trick as the Louisiana Drillers crushed the College Station Spirit 5-1 in a home game at Spirit Ice Arena in Louisiana. Furthermore, the Louisiana Drillers' offense had a big night, peppering College Station with 57 shots throughout the game. The Louisiana Drillers took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Drew Wotta.

Drew Wotta chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Gunner Morgan did his part, adding 2 assists.

During the first period, Svondrk opened the scoring for the Spirit with a goal at 7:10 with helpers from his teammates Grunkemeyer and Frado.

In the second, Dolese answered for Louisiana with a goal at 7:57 with helpers from Wotta and Smith. Wotta quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:19 with assists from Dolese and Morgan. Dolese netted a goal at 19:40 with helpers from Watzka and Wotta.

During the third, Dolese put in a goal at 0:28 with assists from Morgan and Smith. Zittel scored a goal at 20:00 with a helper from his defensive partner, Smith.

The Drillers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Clifford’s big night as he stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced. Clifford’s counterpart, O’toole, also had a big night, managing to stop 52 of 57, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Louisiana Drillers’ record to (16-27-1-1).
